kn atelier（ケーエヌアトリエ） の作家 nakatake kasumi（なかたけ かすみ） と申します。

作品を世に出すからには、まずはどんな作家なのかを知っていただきたいと思い、この場をお借りしてご挨拶を兼ねた自己紹介をさせていただきます。

日本のクリエイター。拠点は福岡、出身は宮崎。

デザイナー・イラストレーター・画家・ハンドメイド作家として幅広く活動しています。

九州造形短期大学（現：九州産業大学）卒業。

デザイナー歴10年以上、現在は独立しフリーランスとして活動中です。

絵を描くことやものづくりは幼い頃から続けており、本格的に基礎を学び始めたのは高校生の頃から。
独立後は大手企業から個人まで幅広くWebサイトデザインやグラフィックデザインを担当し、2025年からはアート・イラスト・ハンドメイドにも本格的に力を注いでいます。

幼少期から絵やものづくりが大好きで、小学生の頃は絵画で表彰されることも多く、漠然と「将来は絵を描く人になりたい」と思っていました。

中学ではバスケ部に熱中しつつも、趣味として絵を描いていました。
友人や授業を通して先生に見せる機会が多かったことから、学校行事の冊子や看板のイラストを自然と頼まれることもありました。
高校では美術部として本格的に油彩やアクリル画に取り組み、いくつかの受賞経験もあります。
この頃は友人とバンド活動もしており、絵に音楽と芸術に触れる機会が増えました。
大学ではグラフィックデザインとイラストを中心に学びながら、写真、服飾、絵画、Webなど幅広く創作の基礎を学びました。
ここでも新しい仲間とバンドを組み、デザイン、アート、音楽と芸術に没頭する日々を過ごしました。

卒業後は制作会社に入社し、10年間デザイナーとして経験を積み独立しました。
独立後はがむしゃらにデザインをこなし、有難いことに多忙な日々を送ってきましたが、ふとした時、自分が「効率や成果ばかりを求めるデザイナー脳」にすっかり染まっていることに気づき、理屈や一般論に縛られることで息苦しさを感じるようになっていました。

そこで、もっと余白や自由を楽しむ心を大切にし、独自性を取り戻したいと感じたことから、絵画制作を再開し、イラストも本格的にSNSを通して世間へ発表し始めたところです。
また、自分のためだけに趣味で作っていたハンドメイドアクセサリーも、もともとは「欲しいものが市場にないから自分で作ろう」と思ったのがきっかけでした。

私と同じような感性を持つ方の「欲しいのにない」を叶えられるかもしれないと思い、これからはまだ見ぬ誰かのために、少しずつお作りしていこうと考えています。

社会人になってからはなんでもデジタル済ますようになり、鉛筆や絵の具に触れることはなくなっていました。

学生の頃にやっていた油彩は生活環境的に難しかったので、アクリルで絵画制作を再開。
久しぶりに絵の具に触れると、純粋に楽しく「もっと描きたい」と思えました。

私にとって絵を描くことは、自分の内面を整理したり、理想を形にして夢を見るように楽しんだりする、思考の整理と心の娯楽が混ざった行為です。
自分を包み隠さず表現した作品を人に見てもらい、好感や肯定をいただくことに意義を感じています。
そのため、描いたものは自分の中で留めるのではなく、SNSに発信してきました。

ただ、私の絵画作品はナイフをメインに描いており、凹凸のある質感を楽しむものです。
光や陰影、飾る場所や照明によって大きく表情が変わります。
写真や動画で伝えようと試みましたが、やはり生でしか伝わらない魅力だと感じました。

そこで、公募展への応募も考えましたが、展示会では「作品には触れないでください」「静かに見てください」といった厳かな雰囲気が強く、私が考える「もっと気軽にアートに触れて欲しい」という世界とは少し違うかもしれないと気づきました。
もっと身近にアートを感じてほしい、街や店や家庭の中に自然にアートがある世界を広げたい。
そう思ったことが、kn atelier を開店した理由になります。

私にとって絵画は、自分の生を形に残すことです。

誰かに見てもらい、共感やエネルギーを感じてもらうことで初めて昇華され、完成するものだと考えています。
だからこそ、作品を販売し、多くの人に届けることこそが、私にとっての正解だと思っています。

イラストについても、根っこは絵画と同じで、自分の思考や理想が反映されています。

ただ、イラストには「誰かのために描きたい」という気持ちも強くあります。
似顔絵や本や音楽などの作品に彩りを添える存在として、コラボレーションしながら一緒に創り上げていきたい。

イラストを通じて人と繋がり、新しい表現や関係を広げていけたらと考えています。

ハンドメイドで作っているアクセサリーは、アートとイラストを軽やかに繋ぐ存在として、ゆっくりと続けていきたいと考えています。
アート作品に興味を持ってくださる方がいても、お手頃な価格ではないため、購入を迷われる方もいるかもしれないと感じ、そんな方にも気軽にアートに触れていただくにはどうすればいいかを考えました。
ポストカードやバッグなどのグッズ展開も考えましたが、それでは私が大切にしている質感や雰囲気が十分に伝わりません。
そこで、小さなアートピースとしてアクセサリーを作ることにしました。

私は占いが趣味で、その影響から鉱物（天然石）が好きです。
普段からアクセサリーとして身につけたり、インテリアとして飾ったりしています。
鉱物は特殊な環境から生まれた特別な石で、その生成過程から古代の人々が意味を見出し、お守りとして大切にしてきた歴史があります。

せっかく私がアクセサリーを作るなら、石を取り入れ、アートと石のエネルギーを掛け合わせて「最強のお守り」を作りたい。そう思ったことが、制作のきっかけです。

kn atelier はまだ始まったばかりのブランドですが、将来の展望として実店舗にすることを夢見ています。

そこではデザインなどの制作の打ち合わせができて、ライブペイントや似顔絵制作が楽しめて、アクセサリーやアート作品を気軽に手に取れるような空間にしたいと思っています。

About the Artist

My name is nakatake kasumi, the creator of kn atelier.

Since I am presenting my works to the world, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my background with you.

Background

I am a Japanese creator, based in Fukuoka and originally from Miyazaki.

I work in a wide range of fields as a designer, illustrator, painter, and handmade artist.

I graduated from Kyushu Zokei Junior College of Design (now Kyushu Sangyo University).

With over 10 years of experience as a designer, I am now working independently as a freelancer.

Drawing and creating has been part of my life since childhood, and I began formal study in high school. After becoming independent, I handled a wide range of web and graphic design projects for both major corporations and individuals. From 2025, I started devoting myself more fully to art, illustration, and handmade creations.

My Journey

Since childhood, I have loved drawing and making things. In elementary school, I often received awards for paintings, and dreamed of becoming “someone who draws.”

In middle school, while dedicated to basketball, I continued drawing as a hobby, often asked by teachers and friends to create illustrations for school events and materials.

In high school, I joined the art club, studied oil and acrylic painting, and received several awards. At the same time, I played in a band, which further deepened my connection with art and music.

At university, I studied graphic design and illustration as my main fields, while also learning photography, fashion, painting, and web design. Once again, I formed a band with friends, immersing myself in design, art, and music.

After graduation, I worked as a designer at a production company for 10 years before going freelance. As a freelancer, I was grateful to be busy with many projects, but eventually realized that I had become too focused on efficiency and results—the so-called “designer brain.” Bound by logic and conventions, I began to feel suffocated.

Wanting to reclaim more freedom and individuality, I returned to painting and started sharing illustrations actively on social media.

I also began turning my handmade accessories—originally made only for myself because “what I wanted didn’t exist on the market”—into creations for others.

I hope to create pieces that fulfill the “I want it, but it doesn’t exist” feeling for people with similar sensibilities.

Why I Opened kn atelier

As a working adult, I had moved almost entirely to digital tools, and stopped using pencils and paints. Later, I returned to acrylic painting (since oil was impractical in my living environment). Touching paint again felt purely joyful—I simply wanted to paint more.

For me, painting is both a way to organize my inner thoughts and a form of leisure for the heart, like dreaming. Showing works that reveal my true self, and receiving resonance or affirmation from others, gives them meaning.

My paintings are mainly created with a palette knife, producing textured surfaces that change expression with light, shadows, and surroundings. I tried to convey this through photos and videos, but realized it is something that can only be fully experienced in person.

Although I considered entering competitions, I felt that the solemn atmosphere of exhibitions—“please don’t touch,” “view quietly”—was different from the casual and approachable art world I envisioned.

I want art to be felt more naturally in homes, shops, and everyday life. That is why I opened kn atelier.

Thoughts on Art, Illustration, and Accessories

For me, painting is a way to leave a trace of my life.

A work is only complete when someone sees it, resonates with it, and feels its energy. That is why selling and delivering my works to people feels like the right path for me.

Illustration, at its core, shares the same roots as painting—it reflects my thoughts and ideals. But illustration also carries my strong wish to “create for someone.” Whether for portraits, books, or music, I want to collaborate and co-create with others.

Through illustration, I hope to connect with people and expand into new expressions and relationships.

Handmade accessories serve as a light bridge between art and illustration.

Since original artworks are not always affordable, I wanted to create small art pieces that allow people to experience art more casually. Instead of mass-produced goods, I chose accessories—wearable art that preserves the texture and mood I value.

I am also fond of fortune-telling, which led to my love of minerals and gemstones. Stones are special, formed under unique conditions, and have long been regarded as protective charms throughout history. By combining art and stones, I aim to create accessories that embody both beauty and energy—the ultimate talismans.

Future Vision

kn atelier is still at the beginning, but my dream is to one day open a physical space.

A place where people can discuss design, enjoy live painting or portraits, and casually experience accessories and artworks in person.
