kn atelier の作家 Kasumi Nakataka と申します。

作品を世に出すからには、まずはどんな作家なのかを知っていただきたいと思い、この場をお借りしてご挨拶を兼ねた自己紹介を書かせていただきます。

宮崎県出身、福岡県在住。

デザイナー・イラストレーター・画家・ハンドメイド作家と、多方面の創作を手がけるアーティストです。

Kasumi Nakatake の名で活動しています。

九州造形短期大学（現：九州産業大学）卒業。

デザイナー歴は10年以上、現在は独立し、フリーランスとして活動しています。

絵を描くことやものづくりは物心ついた頃から続けており、本格的に基礎を学び始めたのは高校生の頃からです。
独立するまではデザインを中心に仕事をしており、大手企業から個人まで幅広い案件に携わってきました。

2025年からアート・イラスト・ハンドメイドに本格的に力を入れて活動を始めたところです。

現在の実績からすると「デザイナー」と名乗るのが最も分かりやすいですが、これからは「アーティスト」として名乗れるよう、日々精進していきます。

幼少期から絵やものづくりが大好きで、小学生の頃は絵画で表彰されることも多く、漠然と「将来は絵を描く人になりたい」と思っていました。

中学ではバスケ部に熱中しつつも、趣味として絵を描いていました。友人や授業を通して先生に見せる機会が多かったことから、学校行事の冊子や看板のイラストを頼まれることがよくありました。

高校では美術部に入り、本格的に油彩やアクリル画に取り組み、いくつかの受賞経験もあります。この頃は友人とバンド活動もしており、絵に音楽と芸術に本格的に触れる機会が増えました。

大学ではグラフィックデザインとイラストを中心に学びながら、写真、服飾、絵画、Webなど幅広く創作の基礎を学びました。
ここでも新しい仲間とバンドを組み、デザイン、アート、音楽と芸術に没頭する日々を過ごしました。

卒業後は制作会社に入社し、10年間デザイナーとして経験を積み独立しました。
独立後はがむしゃらにデザインをして多忙な日々を過ごしました。

ただ、仕事が落ち着いてきた時に、商品やターゲットを考える「デザイナー脳」がすっかり染みつき、効率や成果ばかりを求める自分に気づき、もっと余白や自由を楽しむ心を取り戻したいと感じました。
これが、再び絵画に向き合うきっかけになりました。

社会人になってからはなんでもデジタル済ますようになり、鉛筆や絵の具に触れることはなくなっていました。

油彩は環境的に難しかったので、アクリル画を再開。
久しぶりに絵の具に触れると、純粋に楽しく「もっと描きたい」と思えました。

描いていく中で、作品を自分の中だけに留めておくのはもったいないと感じ、公募への応募も考えましたが、小さめの作品が多く、応募条件に合わないものがほとんどで、どうすれば人に見てもらえるだろうと悩みました。

そこで「もっと自由に作品を届ける方法はないか」と考えたとき、販売という選択肢が浮かびました。
これが kn atelier を立ち上げたきっかけです。

私にとって絵画は「感じたことを形に残す」こと。

誰かに見てもらい、共感やエネルギーを感じてもらって初めて絵が昇華され、完成すると考えています。
だから、作品を多くの人に届けることが私の正解なのだと思っています。

イラストについても同じです。
自分が楽しくて描いたイラストを見た人が「いいね」と言ってくれる。
そんな自由なイラストをきっかけに依頼をいただいていた学生時代の経験から「誰かに届くものなんだ」と感じ、それなら自分から発信して販売すれば、もっと多くの人に届けられるのではと考え始めました。

さらに、趣味で自分のためだけに作っていたハンドメイドアクセサリーも「身につけられるアート」として展開すれば、アートをもっと身近にできるのではと考えました。

そこで、アクセサリー作りも自分のためだけでなく、人に届けるものとして本格的に取り組むことにしました。

アート・イラスト・アクセサリー。
それぞれ作るときの想いや意識は少し違いがあります。
けれど「創作」という点では同じであり、自分が生み出すものを通して私の世界を丸ごと感じてもらえるのではないかと思いました。
そうして、私の世界観を総合的に見ていただきたいという想いから、このお店を開店しました。

私は占いが大好きで、自分でタロットカードを使って占うこともあります。
そうした世界に触れているうちに、自然と鉱物にも惹かれるようになりました。
その流れから、アクセサリーには天然石を取り入れることが多くなっています。

天然石はもともとただの石ですが、特殊な環境下で変化し、特別な存在へと姿を変えます。
その姿はまるで困難を乗り越えて輝きを得た生き方にも重なり、古代の人々もそうした力に敬意を払い、意味を持たせてお守りとして大切にしてきたという歴史があります。

私にとって天然石は単なる素材ではなく「お守り」です。

絵画やイラストと同じように、心に寄り添うものをつくりたい。
そんな想いを込めてアクセサリーを制作しています。

kn atelier はまだ始まったばかりのブランドですが、将来の展望として実店舗にすることを夢見ています。

そこではデザインの打ち合わせができて、ライブペイントや似顔絵を楽しめて、アクセサリーやアート作品を手に取れるような空間にしたいと思っています。

Thank you very much for discovering my online shop, kn atelier, and for taking an interest in my work.

My name is Kasumi Nakatake, the artist behind kn atelier.

Since I am sending my works out into the world, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my journey as an artist.

Background

I am originally from Miyazaki and currently based in Fukuoka.

I am a multidisciplinary artist working as a designer, illustrator, painter, and handmade creator, active under the name Kasumi Nakatake.

I graduated from Kyushu Zokei Junior College of Design (now Kyushu Sangyo University).

With over 10 years of experience as a designer, I am now working independently as a freelancer.

I have been drawing and creating since childhood, and I began formal training in high school. Before becoming independent, I worked primarily in design, handling projects for both major companies and individual clients. Since 2025, I have shifted my focus more deeply into art, illustration, and handmade creations.

While “designer” has been my clearest title until now, I am committed to refining my path so that I can proudly call myself an “artist.”

My Journey

Since childhood, I loved drawing and making things. As a primary school student, I often received awards for my paintings and dreamed vaguely of “becoming someone who draws.”

In middle school, I focused on basketball while still drawing as a hobby, often creating illustrations for school events and materials.

In high school, I joined the art club, began working with oil and acrylic painting, and received several awards. I also played in a band, which deepened my connection to art and music.

At university, I studied graphic design and illustration while also exploring photography, fashion, fine art, and web design. I continued band activities and immersed myself in art, design, and music.

After graduation, I worked for a production company for 10 years as a designer before becoming independent. My freelance days were busy and driven by results, but when the pace slowed, I realized I had become too focused on efficiency and outcomes. I wanted to reclaim the joy of freedom and creativity, which led me back to painting.

Why I Opened kn atelier

As a working adult, I relied heavily on digital tools and stopped using pencils and paints. Later, I returned to acrylic painting (since oil painting was impractical in my environment). Touching paint again rekindled my pure joy—“I want to paint more.”

I soon felt it was a waste to keep my works only to myself. While I considered entering competitions, most of my smaller works did not meet the requirements. I wondered how to share my art with people, and that’s when the idea of selling my work came to mind. That was the start of kn atelier.

For me, painting means “giving shape to what I feel.”

I believe that a painting is only complete when it is seen and resonates with someone.

The same is true of illustration. In my student years, the joy of others saying “I like it” to my casual illustrations taught me that sharing freely could connect my work with people. This experience inspired me to present and sell my illustrations more openly.

Likewise, handmade accessories I once made only for myself became a way to create “wearable art.” By sharing them, I hope to bring art closer to everyday life.

Art, illustration, and accessories each have different intentions behind them, yet all are rooted in creativity. Together, they express my world as a whole, which I want to share through this shop.

Accessories and Natural Stones

I have always loved fortune-telling and often read tarot myself. Through this, I naturally became drawn to minerals and gemstones, which led me to incorporate natural stones into my accessories.

Natural stones are simply rocks transformed under unique conditions into something special. Their process of overcoming hardship to shine resonates with life itself. Since ancient times, people have respected these qualities and treasured them as protective charms.

For me, natural stones are not just materials—they are talismans.

Like my paintings and illustrations, I create accessories with the hope that they will gently support the heart.

Future Vision

Though kn atelier is still in its early stages, I dream of one day opening a physical studio-shop.

I envision a place where people can consult on design, enjoy live painting or portrait drawing, and experience accessories and artworks firsthand.
